See Me as I Am

 

See me as I am, and not as you want me to be.

Tell me the truth, not the lie you wish me to see.

 

Respect me for the person that I am, not as some dunce.

Do I matter to you today as I mattered to you once?

 

Acknowledge my feelings with some regard and care.

Am I the only one who is willing to share?

 

Are we on this path together, or am I traveling alone?
